The writing in the movie was top-notch but I must admit that Heath Ledger stole the show. I found myself getting upset when he wasn't on screen because I was so fascinated by his character and the Ledger (as bale stated) "immersed himself completely" in the role. I like the idea that he killed and created havoc for no particular reason "I'm like a dog chasing cars..." He had a dark sense of humor that I felt was always lacking from the previous jokers. A portrayal of the darkest side of humanity
