Cool that you get what they are about though.Personally, I grew up on this stuff and I love it, I would describe it as "minimalist" rather than bland, just my opinion. \m/

I kinda know what you mean. I really want to love Fugazi but I don't love them. I do love a bunch of their songs, but I certainly wouldn't say that they're my favorite band. They are awesome though

Just some background:When FUGAZI first started playing shows in d.c. back in 87 it was really funny because everyone who ever was into in the d.c hardcore scene back then thought it was this strange avant garde sound. Really. It was sort of revolutionary for all of us use to listening to the same standard for the past 4 years. But it was such a natural transition that being at one of their early shows was just amazing. Everyone was so into it.But it's cool you don't dig it. To each his own...

Bland? They don't sound like anyone else and no one sounds like them. You might think their music is simple (and justifiably so), but it's unique.

I love the business practices and the whole story about Fugazi, and the members are all awesome. I've never wanted to like band more but I just can't bring myself to like Fugazi's music at all. It just sounds so bland to me, I really wish it didn't but it does. :(

Yeah it's all taken too literally. I drink and do a couple of other drugs sometimes, but I'm pretty teetotal most of the time, and when I do do any sort of drug I don't abuse it, the vast majority of the time at least. The philosophy of straight edge is spot on, it's all about self respect, positivity and being productive and not wasting your life. |
