LOL I lived in Switzerland for 2,5 years and can tell you they have virtually no unionized workforce or socialized medicine! They have a small limited government, most people work self employed, many SME companies. Health insurance is required by law, but you have to pay yourself, or if you work for a company the company pays 50%.

brian patrick.how does money not help education? competitive salaries attract better teachers, money provides computers textbooks and funds extracurricular activities like sports, music, art. your argument is simply a lame justification for supporting the side that is draining public money and putting it into the hands of private contractors.

So Denmark, Iceland Switzerland with their well regulated markets, highly unionized workforce and socialized medicine are communist countries?! You are so full of it it's not even funny! Even though americans bought into this chicago schl BS in the past the propaganda is no longer working: the Reagan legacy is clearly crumbling. It is not the liberals who destroyed it it was conservative deregulation, the fact that US AAA rated bonds cannot be trusted as sound investment around the world.

She needs to read the history of modern liberalism aka progressives and the striking similarities in ideologies with socialism/ communism. She also needs to quit ignoring that "democracies" do not last very long. The welfare state is a prime example. Read quotes from Karl Marx, Lenin, Mussolini, Founding fathers, plato, and aristotle on democracies.

Yep, there is nothing more money can't fix. Typical liberial answer to everything, problem is that doesn't work. We have tried that in the education system and it hasn't got any better. I worked for BlackWater for several years. I know that they are a business, but regardless what their motive is for giving aid it should be apprecaited.
RedSusan (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
The "humanitarian aid" you speak of is a PR move in Potrero, CA, where Blackwater is fighting local opposition against their planned mercenary training camp. You have no idea what you are talking about. Where has Blackwater provided humanitarian aid? In Iraq? I don't think so. In New Orleans where they rounded up citizens merely searching for food? Nope. By the way - if money were available to schools and not siphoned to Iraq, the teachers you disparage might have a better chance to succeed.
brianpatrick1975 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Nope not sarcasm, just my opinion.
getplaning (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
This is sarcasm, right?
brianpatrick1975 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
America schools are broken and teachers are to blame. Of course BlackWater's mission is to protect the principle, it is a business it is not a social service orginization. Kudos to BlackWater for their humanitarian aid. |
