'You're also wrong, government's only legitimate job is protecting its people'yes, ALL of its people, not just those with money. Where is justice for those who suffered from what Robert Maxwell did?

My comment was a reply to dartaddict. You're also wrong, government's only legitimate job is protecting its people. It is also not true that only the rich get healthcare since about 18 million of them do not purchase healthcare. :P

socialism is NOT state capitalism, Socialism is when the workers own and run the factories, not the state, the state doesnt own anything, any form of government should not exist to benefit those with money, it should work for everyone, clearly, in america, it doesnt, only people who are rich get healthcare, only those with money have the law on their side ect ect ect.

'Capitalism by its nature supports individual freedom. 'fredom of people with money, exploitation of those without.

State capitalism is not truly a form of capitalism. It's a contradiction of terms, therefor, is not included in a general discussion of capitalism.

define your terms first.

State capitalism is very different from laissez faire capitalism. Ron Paul is talking about laissez faire, where people are free to set their own prices on the fair exchange of goods. Since people can freely associate, the government has no restrictions on society, including on rights.

Socialism never invented anything.

So why was the old Soviet Union ran by State Capitalists?
kingaa9818 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
No it doesn't. Fascism by its nature restricts the freedom of individuals. Capitalism by its nature supports individual freedom. |
